EVENT BACKGROUND
The NZ National Aviation Expo is a new event planned for 9 - 11 October 2008 at the Mystery Creek Events Centre near Hamilton.
The event has been developed as a trade expo following market research which confirmed a need for a prestigious showcase of New Zealand aviation technology, products and services.
This event is not an airshow, although live displays and demonstrations are planned and the event location will allow for the presentation of new aircraft currently being built in New Zealand.
The event concept grew from recent developments at Hamilton International Airport. A multi-million dollar terminal upgrade is underway along with the development of an industry cluster. New Zealand Trade and Enterprise has supported the establishment of CTC Aviation, and the opening of Alpha Aviation, a company constructing light aircraft. Pacific Aerospace is an already established aircraft manufacturer, and is a significant player in aircraft exporting.

The billion dollar plus New Zealand aviation industry has long been undervalued and unrecognised - until now!
The exponential growth in the aviation sector has seen multi million dollar fleet upgrades by New Zealand's national carrier, and regional carriers, the establishment of new light aircraft manufacturing and training facilities, airport upgrades and much more.
